Lady Gaga videos have been streamed more than one billion times on YouTube.

More than a billion tune in to Gaga

For the first time in history, an artist has been viewed more than a billion times on YouTube. That`s right, a billion times! The most impressive part of this stat is that Lady Gaga did it with just three songs. The songs include Poker Face, Just Dance and Bad Romance.

Here`s a breakdown of how she broke the one billion mark: Poker Face has been viewed the most, a whopping 374,606,128 times. Bad Romance is not far behind at 360,020,327 times. Just Dance rounds out the bunch at 272,941,674.

YouTube is the most popular video sharing site in the world but Lady Gaga can be also found on other sites. If the total from all sites was calculated, the figure would be astronomical.

Lady Gaga`s new video, Telephone, lasts more than nine minutes, features Beyoncé and was released last week. More than eight million people have already flocked to view this video on YouTube.

The Hendrix experience one album at a time

Jimi Hendrix: Rock Band hits shelves next Tuesday.
The Hendrix experience one album at a time

When the creation of Jimi Hendrix: Rock Band was announced, fans dreamed of an edition similar to The Beatles edition that has more than 40 titles.

However, according to RollingStone.com, the music will be released album by album, as per an agreement signed by MTV Games with Experience Hendrix which holds the rights to all Hendrix material.

The video game will be available in stores next Tuesday (March 30). The album chosen to launch the game is not the first album Hendrix released. Instead, it is the second album the guitarist released with The Jimi Hendrix Experience, the classic Axis: Bold As Love.

Diehard Jimi fans take note: an unearthed Hendrix single, Valleys of Neptune, will also be included on Axis: Bold As Love.

Janie Hendrix, the CEO of Experience Hendrix, says, "Much like Jimi’s music, we feel that Rock Band represents an amazing, innovative medium for music discovery and interaction that can have a profound effect on those who experience it. We are extremely pleased to be able to have Jimi Hendrix’s genius musical legacy continue to live on and touch people the world over through Rock Band."

XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii console owners will have access to the game on March 30. PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait until the following day, March 31.

No date has been given for the release of two more Hendrix studio albums, Are You Experienced? and Electric Ladyland.

What do superstars...

dodane: 2010-03-26 22:20:11 ostatnia zmiana: 2010-03-26 22:20:11

What do superstars do in their spare time?

When they are not rocking out on stage or laying down tracks in the studio, rock stars often have a lot of time on their hands… and if they are truly of rock star status, chances are they have enough money to keep themselves occupied with all kinds of eccentric activities. Here is a list of some of the more bizarre rock star hobbies and pastimes:

BRUCE DICKINSON – PILOT: Known primarily for his role as front man of legendary heavy metal group Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson is one of the most celebrated singers of the genre (his nickname is the Human Air-Raid Siren). He is also a commercial airline pilot, and last year saw the release of a documentary called Flight 666, which chronicled Iron Maiden’s last world tour, in which the relentlessly energetic singer would get off stage, then put on his pilot uniform, and fly the band and its crew to the next gig (sometimes in another continent). How awesome is that!!?! “Thanks for flying Rock Star airlines, we will be flying really high today, and in a moment, we will begin our beverage and snack service – today’s choices are whisky and tequila and please enjoy our complimentary bags of peanuts, pretzels, and assorted hallucinogenic drugs! Wooooooooo!”
NEIL YOUNG – BIO-CAR ENTHOUSIAST: When Neil Young drives down the freeway in his ’59 Lincoln – you might be inclined to think, “there go two relics of the 60’s”. And while technically that may be true, the fact is that they are both renewed for modern times. Neil Young is still rockin in the free world, making new music and gaining new fans everyday, and his car is about as forward thinking as you can get. Over the last few years, Young spent lots of time and money transforming his car into what he calls the LincVolt Hybrid, a super-green machine that runs on electricity and bio-diesel and achieves around 100 miles per gallon, emitting practically zero emissions. The Canadian rocker even released an album about the car, called Fork In The Road, which was nominated for a Grammy, although it didn’t win. But hey, who cares about a Grammy when you have a car that runs on vegetables, animal droppings , and a couple of volts of electricity!

BEYONCÉ – BALLET: Beyoncé’s been boning up on her ballet moves as of late. The multi-talented performer has already proven herself to be quite the dancer – but in recent months, the diva actually showed up unannounced at a regular ballet class in NYC and took lessons with the unwashed masses. According to one of her classmates, ``She came in like a regular student. No entourage and no attitude.`` Atta girl, you show ‘em what you’re working with – and maybe you’ll shake up the ballet world, by throwing in a little bit of that scandalous booty-shakin` you are so famous for! Mmm mmmm mmmm!

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE – GOLF: The man who brought sexy back is also a lynx on the links (he’s no Tiger… but maybe he just hasn’t got caught with his hand in the cookie jar yet). JT plays so much golf, that he’s decided to write a book about it. The singer’s upcoming book has been described as a “memoir”, consisting of stories about courses he’s played on and people he’s played with, according to the New York Post. Ohhhhh how very exciting – I am sure that’s gonna be a real page-turner. Next he will be writing a book featuring the floor plans of all the stadiums he’s played at, and excerpts from conversations he had with roadies about electrical outlets

ROBBIE WILLIAMS – GO-KART ENTHUSIAST: British superstar Robbie Williams has a certain need for speed. The singer has always had a fascination with racing (the video for his hit song Supreme was an homage to British racing legend, Jackie Stewart). Recently Robbie purchased a home in a quiet neighborhood on the English countryside, and in his backyard, he built a go-kart track (much to his neighbors’ chagrin). If you can’t make it to Robbie’s house to try the track in person, you are in luck – there is a new iphone app available, in which you can race with Robbie on his backyard track

WILL SMITH – FENCER: No, Will Smith does not erect fences as a hobby… he does, however, like to get into some swordplay with his buddies Tom Cruise and David Beckham. Tom recently built a fencing studio in his own home, and after a long hard day of canvassing the neighborhood, looking for new Scientology victims – uh, ooops, I mean recruits – the three musketeers have been locking swords at Tom’s house for some good old fashioned male bonding. Says Will, “We don`t get enough time to hang out, just us three guys, so this is his way of getting together and bonding. David and I go to his home and just do fencing. It`s a lot of fun”. Sounds like a whole lotta creepy to me!!!

STEVE VAI – BEEKEEPING: That’s right, the virtuosic guitar player (who played with Zappa, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake, to a name a few) is also obsessed with bees. He’s got 5 colonies thriving in his backyard, he runs his own Steve’s Bees website, he harvests his own honey (which he sells for charity), and he’s a self-professed ‘bee whisperer’… he’s also crazy, and talks to them in little baby voices!

TED NUGENT – HUNTER AND JERKY MAKER: The Nuge loves his guns, loves his crossbow, and loves his huntin’. And when he comes home from the hunt with an animal under his arm, the Motor City Madman likes to turn it into jerky. For a while, he was even selling his own jerky, called Gonzo Meat Biltong, on the Internet. It came in 3 different flavours: Original Beef, Barbecue Beef, and Flamethrower - and each package featured a photo of Nuge beside an American buffalo with his personal pledge, ``I testdrive all meat”. That’s just wrong on soooo many levels!

JONI MITCHELL – PAINTER: Although Joni is best known for her illustrious music career, she also dabbles in the visual arts… well not just dabbles, she is an accomplished painter and photographer. Joni’s work has graced the cover of several of her albums and she’s been celebrated in many prestigious galleries around the world. “I have always thought of myself as a painter derailed by circumstance”, she once said about her career – which she defines in no uncertain terms: “I`m a painter first, and a musician second...”. Other notable rock star painters include Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones and Marilyn Manson. Metallica drummer, Lars Ulrich, is a big time art collector – but he has been known to cry like a baby when his stuff doesn’t sell well…

ROD STEWART – MODEL TRAIN ENTHUSIAST: Rod The Mod loves his little trains! He’s got a pretty sweet railway set laid out at his mansion in Beverley Hills. It’s a perfect 1:87 scale model of New York’s Grand Central Station in the 1940s, featuring 100 ft of track, plenty of vintage mini locomotives and carriages with a backdrop of skyscrapers, streets, railway buildings and lots of tiny little passengers. Rod’s dream came true when the legendary singer was featured on the cover of Model Railroader, his favourite magazine! According to the golden aged rocker, the Model Railroad cover “means more to me than the cover of Rolling Stone”. Wow!! Dream a little dream, indeed brother! What ever floats your boat, or drives your train, or whatever you want to call it…
