Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood & Miranda Lambert at 2010 CMA Music Festival!
The CMA Music Festival got several
of the most relevant artists in the country music industry together for
its 2010 edition which took place in mid-June at the LP Field Stadium
in Nashville. The festival finally aired on CMT on Wednesday night.
Some of this year`s performers included; Taylor Swift (above) who gave
the very first performance of her new single "Mine".
Swift didn`t actually perform at the LP Field but in a
controlled-private set (during the festival) so fans there wouldn`t
leak the new song way too early. Taylor was simply sublime! Other top
country artists at the festival were American Idol champ Carrie
Underwood - check her out below singing "Undo It"and "Cowboy Casanova" - and the lovely Miranda Lambert who performed
with Dierks Bentley their hit collaboration "Bad Angel". Enjoy
Cee-Lo - F**k You! (Music Video!)
Cee-Lo has definitely scored an unexpected hit with his viral song `F**k You", whose Youtube video has already surpassed the 4 million views mark. The Smeezingtons production also serves as the first single from Cee-Lo`s upcoming album "The Lady Killer" in stores on December 7th. And we can finally check out the song`s official music video which has been debuted today. Lol truly enjoyed this clip! Brilliant work. You`ll see Cee-Lo channel his inner child/teenager in this old-school style music video. I was actually secretly loving this song, but now that it`s a big success I have no problem admitting it! Go Cee-Lo!
Justin Bieber Joined By Miley Cyrus, Sean Kingston, Usher & Jaden Smith At NYC Show!
Canadian pop star Justin Bieber played at NYC`s Madison Square Garden before a sold out-crowd of 20,000 screaming fans on Tuesday night. The concert was part of the dates of Bieber`s current "My World Tour". However, last night wasn`t the normal show Justin usually plays. Tuesdays` gig was being filmed for the "Baby" singer`s upcoming 3D movie which will be directed by Jon Chu. So what was so special about this show? Well, the guest artists! Bieber brought onstage Disney star Miley Cyrus to sing together "Overboard", Sean Kingston to perform their hit collaboration "Eenie Meenie", Jaden Smith to sing the Karate Kid theme-song "Never Say Never" and of course his label boss and friend R&B crooner Usher to perform the remix of "Somebody To Love". Watch all the videos below. Now that looked interesting!
Colombian star Shakira`s new single "Loca" was premiered earlier today, September 1st, on different European radios. This is the English version which features British rapper Dizzee Rascal. Finally we have the studio cut! The uptempo pop tune with lots of reggaeton influence serves as the lead single from Shakira`s upcoming album "Sale El Sol" - in stores later in 2010. "Loca" was produced by El Cata and Pitbull. Actually "Loca" is a remake of El Cata`s own song "Loca Con Su Tigre". Shakira`s new single samples the exact same beats. Anyways, I`m loving the song, loving it already from the previews and videos that were released online. Shakira has a smash here! Although I think I`ll like the Spanish version better though. And probably "Loca" will be more of a hit in Spanish-speaking countries. Moreover, Shakira`s new album will be fully in Spanish although it seems all the singles will have an English counterpart. Enjoy
This is soooo much better! Listen to the Spanish version of Shakira`s new single"Loca" featuring Dominican rapper El Cata - The uptempo smash serves as the lead single from the Colombian singer`s upcoming album "Sale El Sol" which drops in stores on November 2nd.
Faith Evans - Everyday Struggle (New Song!)
Check out this new Faith Evans song entitled"Everyday Struggle". The Raekwon-assisted track will be included on the singer`s upcoming studio album "Something About Faith" in stores on October 5th. The new leak actually samples Faith`s late husband Notorious B.I.G classic of the same title name. Evans definitely does justice to it! Love it. I just need her new album im my life soon! Big fan of Faith`s voice. I really cannot belive it`s taken her five years to release a new CD. Her last effort was "The First Lady" in 2005, which you can remember spawned the amazing single "Again". A very personal meaning song to Faith. That record was actually certified gold (and almost platinum), so not really sure what happened in that span of time without new music, I mean she did release a christmas album but that does`t count for me. Anyways, I`m happy we have Faith back and delivering great R&B music once again.
New Music: Wiz Khalifa – ‘Black and Yellow’
Wiz Khalifa makes his major label debut with “Black and Yellow,” the first offering from his 2011 Rostrum Records/Atlantic Records release. The Pittsburgh-based MC made a name for himself on the indie circuit, but has been receiving lots of shine in recent months. Drake even offered him an opening spot on his tour, to which he politely declined. Instead, you can catch him on his own 50-city trek, which kicks off September 16 in Philadelphia.
The 22-year-old puts his Pittsburgh Pirates pride on display on “Black and Yellow.”
New Music: J. Period – ‘Man or the Music’ [Michael Jackson Tribute Mixtape]
There are few better ways to celebrate what would be Michael Jackson’s 52nd birthday than with a tribute mixtape dedicated to the King of PopDJ-producer J. Period joins forces with director Spike Lee and 40Acres.com to release a free limited edition mixtape Man or the Music (40 Acres Edition), an 80-minute collection of MJ classics, rare demo tracks, remixes, and behind-the-scenes interview clips.
The mixtape coincides with Spike Lee’s 2nd Annual "Brooklyn"Loves MJ” celebration in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, taking place (Aug. 29).
“It is a tremendous honor to join a storyteller like Spike Lee in celebrating the legacy of Michael Jackson’s music with an exclusive mixtape for this incredible event,” stated J. The mixtape offers tracks including the demos for “Billie Jean,” “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” “P.Y.T.,” and “Workin’ Day and Night,” as well as remixes of “Rock With You” and the Jackson 5’s “It’s Great to Be Here.”

New Music: Usher f/ Lil’ Kim & Jay-Z – ‘Hot Tottie (Remix)’
The Queen Bee holds court with King Hov, her rumored new Roc Nation boss, on the remix to Usher’s “Hot Tottie.” “The Queen Hot Tottie, don’t compare me to nobody,” coos a bilingual Lil’ Kim, while equating herself to a Bugatti and Maserati on the slinky Polow Da Don production.
Does Kimmie make this “Hot Tottie” even hotter? Sound off below.
Video: Bruno Mars @ Bowery Ballroom NYC - “Grenade.”
OoOoooo.. How easy it was to quickly become a permanent fan of Bruno Mars last night. Nina Sky opened up for Bruno and the closer it came time for Bruno the Bowery packed out. With all his label mates on the top floor looking down and all of his long time fans on the flow screaming their hearts out. It was Bruno’s first show in NYC “where Brooklyn at!? I’ve always wanted to say that.. (lol)” — and you would of thought a long time celebrity was performing w/ the crowds reaction. In this clip he’s performing a new record that will be featured on his album, i really enjoyed this one “Grenade.” Cont reading to watch him perform the song that changed his life.. it was such a sweet moment as everyone harmonized together ~<3. Look forward to the 23 year singer song-writer’s debut album later this year! Shout out to Jane for putting me on =o).Ernest Estime was on duty, taking amazing flicks.. they’re not up yet but he let me share a few with you =o)
You wanted Lasers? You’ll have to rethink your appetite. Chi-town native Lupe Fiasco has released the first track off his oft-delayed third studio album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, formerly titled Lasers. Produced by 1500 or Nothin’ (Nipsey Hussle, Asher Roth, “Go to Sleep” rolls slowly with haunting piano melody complemented by chugging percussion and a mournful vocal line. “My can do spirit’s in the house,” he raps. Looks like he’s ready to give the people what they want.

WATCH: David Archuleta & Shontelle Perform at 2010 Arthur Ashe Kids` Day!
Pop singer David Archuleta and R&B songstress Shontelle performed at the annual Arthur Ashe Kids` Day concert held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Saturday. They also shared the stage with the likes of the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. Anyways, Archuleta performed for the very first time live his brand new single "Something `Bout Love" Putting aside some pitchy moments, David gave a solid performance. And I`m actually liking the song better now! The American Idol alum will release his sophomore album entitled "The Other Side of Down" on October 5th.
Shontelle also performed at this event. The Bajan singer gave a live rendition of her Top 15 hit (USA)"Impossible. She sounded AMAZING! Go Shontelle! Look at those fans singing the lyrics at 2:10 mark. But one thing though, didn`t Shontelle feel too hot with that outfit? In any case, the Barbados native will release her new studio album "No Gravity" on September 20th. BTW, check out below too a short video of Shontelle performing her next official single "Perfectnightmare" later on that same day at a radio gig.
Nelly Furtado Performs New Songs In Poland.
Canadian superstar Nelly Furtado was one of the invited international artists that performed at the 2010 edition of the Orange Warsaw Festival in Poland that took place last Sunday - Nelly`s extensive setlist included several songs from her back catalogue such as "All Good Things" or "Maneater" as well as new material like"Girlfriend In This City" and "Free"(produced by Salaam Remi). These tracks had already leaked and were posted on Directlyrics.com earlier this year. They`re expected to appear on Nelly Furtado`s upcoming English album "Lifestyles".
Apparently, neither the city of Leeds or Reading in Britain are the “paradise city” Axl was referring to in the song.
Over the weekend, Guns N’ Roses played concerts in Reading and Leeds Britain and werecut off before their set was over. Festival organizers say it was because the band was continuing to play past curfew.
In a post on Twitlonger.com, Axl wrote:
"Regardless, the nonsense just seems so unnecessary but without real management or industry presence is unfortunately beyond our control. We hope the fans feel they got at least what they could from us under the circumstances as for us all things considered that`s the main thing. The rest is filler.”
Festival organizers stand by their position, saying that Guns N’ Roses went on stage an hour late and were still given an extra 30 minutes to play.
Guitarist Richard Fortus sent out some tweets explaining the position of the band:
"I don`t think there is another band out right now that has the balls to do what we did last night. Axl insists on doing things his way and not playing by the f**king rules. You can love him or hate him for it, but the fact of the matter is… he`s the real f**king deal… Deal with it or not, but it won`t ever change."
We think Guns N’ Roses might be a little too full of themselves at this point in their career. Maybe next time they won’t go on an hour late and piss of both fans and festival organizers.
Eminem and Elton John on top
The rapper and pop legend land in first place on a list of the most surprising duets.
Entertainment Weekly put together a list of the most surprising duets in music history. Leading the pack is a duet by Eminem and Elton John at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
The duo performed Eminem`s song Stan at a time when the rapper was receiving flak for anti-gay comments. His performance with the openly gay Elton John raised more than a few eyebrows.
Second place on the EW list goes to Run DMC and Aerosmith`s rap-rock rendition of Walk This Way. It was a popular song that got lots of radio play in 1986.
Dusty Springfield`s duet with the Pet Shop Boys rounds out the top three. Their performance of What Have I Done to Deserve This was a hit in 1987.
Other duets to make the list include Bing Crosby and David Bowie (Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy), Nick Cave with Kylie Minogue (Where The Wild RosesGo) and The KLF featuring Tammy Wynette (Justified and Ancient).
Beyonce Working With Ne-Yo On New Album
Beyoncé Knowles will be enlisting the help of fellow R&B artist Ne-Yo for her upcoming album. She has taken a break from the music industry these last few months, but is gearing up for a brand new CD. The news was confirmed by Ne-Yo himself via his Twitter account.
He wrote in a Tweet that he had been in the studio with Beyoncé the previous night and has also been working alongside Mary J. Blige. He said on August 29th that he was expecting to hit the studio again with Beyoncé, and had just finished up a session with Mary J. Blige.
The new album will be a follow-up effort to Beyoncé’s 2008 release, “I Am..Sasha Fierce.” She has not announced the title of her upcoming release, but fans can be sure that she will be getting rid of her alter ego for her upcoming album. “Sasha Fierce is done, I killed her,” Beyoncé said to Allure magazine earlier this year.
It appears that she may have gotten the feelings conveyed by Fierce out of her system in her last effort. Knowles also made a surprise performance at the 7th Annual Rock the Bells Festival in New York. She was accompanied by a number of huge acts including Alicia Keys, Swizz Beats and her husband Jay-Z.
It will be interesting to hear what her new music sounds like after she was able to take a vacation and get a fresh outlook on life over the course of the last few months.
Lady GaGa Premieres New Song At Concert!
Lady GaGa treated fans at her St Paul, Minnesota (USA) concert - part of her "Monster Ball" World Tour - with a performance of a brand new song called "Living On The Radio" on Monday night - The pop phenom was halfway her setlist at the Xcel Energy Center when she announced she would be singing a new song. GaGa said however she didn`t think "Living on the Radio" would appear on her upcoming album. Perhaps b-side material? In general, I think it`s an amazing gift for fans giving new songs in concerts, plus it helps increase the anticipation for her new record. However, Lady GaGa is clever as she`s only debuting "ballads" and is keeping under lock and key the big guns = the uptempo smash hits. In any case, "Loving on the radio" is a nice effort with really beautiful lyrics.
Alesha Dixon Performs on Suck My Pop & Katy Perry on The Album Chart Show!
Alesha Dixon continues promoting her newest single "Drummer Boy" on English television - The pop star`s latest stop was last Friday at VIVA`s "Suck My Pop" show - What an awful name for a programme, right?Anyways, Alesha brought loads of energy for this new performance, nailed the choreopgraphy, delivered a fierce attitude and overall demonstrated the obvious, that is...she`s a formidable performer! "Drummer Boy" will be released on September 5th in the UK. Dixon`s new album "The Entertainer" goes on sale this Fall.
During Katy Perry`s last visit to the UK earlier this month, the pop star taped a mini-concert for Channel 4`s "The Album Chart Show". Perry`s episode finally aired over the weekend. Watch in the videos below Katy perfoming two songs; the fan-favourite and strong candidate for fourth single "Peacock", and her latest release "Teenage Dream". Excellent performances!
Michael Jackson Is The Most Downloaded Artist Of All Time
And it`s no surprise!
According to international record sales from Nokia`s Ovi Music Store,Michael Jackson is the most downloaded artist in history.
"Michael Jackson has always been a pop music legend. But the anniversary of his death and birthday celebrations seem to have revived Jackson fever as fans rediscover his songs – making him the most popular solo artist of all time," said Musicologist Geoff Roberts.
It seems the King of Pop is most popular in India, as it makes up 26 percent of total downloads. It is then followed by the UK, Germany, Netherlands and Finland.
Beat It is his most downloaded hit with Billie Jean and Thriller trailing behind.
Impressive.
What Is Aerosmith`s Future?
Nobody knows!
Aerosmith`s Joe Perry thinks the band could be over once their Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock tour ends next month in Canada.
The reason?
Steven Tyler`s potential new role on American Idol!
Joe says:
"He (Tyler) told me just a couple of days ago he signed his papers to join the show. As far as he knew, everything`s set to go. I think everybody`s a little worn out. The tour is winding up, and we don`t know when we`ll work again as band. That part of it is up in the air, and it`s starting to hit home."
Thoughts?
Completely Gratuitous
Leave it to our little Archie!!
He always seems to manage to come off as completely asexual, but somehow adorable at the same time!
The singer made an appearance at the 2010 US Open Arthur Ashe KidsDay at the USTA Billie Jean King National TennisCenter yesterday, and we don`t know if it`s the bashful little smile or the Dennis the Menace inspired outfit, but we think he`s just the sweetest little thing, isn`t he?
LOLs!
Don`t ever change, bb! :)
